CEO and President
As President and CEO, Pete defines Advent’s vision, sets strategy and oversees execution across the global business. Before taking the helm, Pete served three and a half years as President, overseeing strategy, sales, marketing, services, and product teams worldwide. He started out at Advent as an entry level client maintenance renewals representative in 1994, and moved up through a variety of positions in the company, including Vice President of Sales, Vice President of Marketing, and Executive Vice President of the company’s largest business units. Pete holds a BA from Princeton University.
Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Facilities and Community Involvement
John makes sure that Advent has the best and brightest talent in the business, and that they have a working environment that provides ample opportunities to flourish. He also leads the community involvement efforts that have earned Advent a reputation as a leading corporate citizen. Before joining Advent in 2004, John was Vice President of Human Resources for Wind River Systems, the leader in embedded software, and previously held a variety of positions at Visa International. He began in human resources at Westinghouse Electric Company and Pacific Gas and Electric. He has a BA from Hamilton College and an MILR from Cornell University.
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Katherine is responsible for keeping Advent top of mind with investment management clients and prospects around the world. She oversees the teams executing our global marketing strategy, encompassing lead generation, branding and identity, corporate positioning, analyst and media relations, web and social programs, events, and product marketing. Katherine joined Advent in 2006 as Director of Public Relations. Before that, she served as Senior Director of Marketing Communications at Inovis, a leading B2B supply chain technology company, and led the marketing communications team at QRS, which Inovis acquired. She holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Strategy
Reed Colley is a member of Advent’ executive management team and is responsible for setting the company’s acquisitions strategy. Mr. Colley has served as General Manager of Black Diamond Performance Reporting since joining Advent in 2011, when Advent acquired Black Diamond. As founder and CEO of Black Diamond, Mr. Colley built the company from the ground up starting in 2003, growing it profitably to become the leading solution in the advisory market. Prior to founding Black Diamond, Mr. Colley was a Vice President at Investment Scorecard based in Nashville, Tennessee where he was responsible for developing the company’s Internet-based application that reported on over $200 billion in managed assets, as well as managing the product and development teams. Mr. Colley holds a Bachelor of Science with degrees in Economics and Engineering Science from Vanderbilt University.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Randall Cook is the chief legal officer at Advent, overseeing the Company’s worldwide legal operations. He came to Advent in 2002, after serving as Assistant General Counsel for iXL, a global public company. Randall previously worked in private practice, representing Fortune 500 telecom, aerospace and technology companies. He also held a variety of legal positions in the federal government, serving as a prosecutor in the US Attorneys’ Office, Special Counsel at the Department of Commerce, and an attorney in the Executive Office of the President at the US Trade Representative’s office. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA from Claremont McKenna College and received his JD from University of California, Berkeley’s Boalt School of Law.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Jim has the task of making sure Advent is financially strong. He oversees all our accounting and financial reporting, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and tax operations. Jim joined Advent in 2006 and served as Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer before assuming the CFO role in 2009. Prior to Advent, he worked as Assistant Controller at UTStarcom. Between 1994 and 2004, Jim held various positions at the global accounting and consulting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers, and was a senior manager when he completed his tenure. He holds a BA from Ohio University.
Founder and Strategic Advisor
As founder, former Chief Executive Officer and a member of Advent’s Board of Directors, Stephanie DiMarco has engineered the growth of Advent into one of the world’s leading providers of software and services to the investment management industry. From its founding in 1983, through a successful IPO in 1995, to record revenues in 2010, Ms. DiMarco has built Advent into a global company with 4,400 clients in more than 60 countries around the world. Prior to founding Advent, Ms. DiMarco worked in the investment industry as a financial analyst and portfolio manager. In 2011, Ms. DiMarco was recognized as one of 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds in a survey conducted by The Hedge Fund Journal and was selected as Financial Woman of the Year in 2003 by the Financial Women’s Association. Ms. DiMarco received the Business Leader of the Year by the Haas School of Business in 2000, and was named one of the top 10 financial technology innovators of the decade by Wall Street & Technology Magazine. She serves on the Advisory Board of the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Board member of Summer Search, a national non-profit organization; she is a former board member of the San Francisco Foundation, where she chaired the Foundation’s Investment committee, and is also a former member of the Board of Trustees of the UC Berkeley Foundation. Ms. DiMarco holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Todd sets the company’s long-term technology and solution vision. It’s his job to make sure our solutions incorporate the best technology innovations to meet our clients’ needs and are easy to adopt, own and use. Before taking this role, Todd had global responsibility for product design, delivery, implementation, and support of our alternative investment solutions, including Geneva®. He joined Advent in 2002 and worked his way through a variety of technical leadership roles in product development and client support. Before coming to Advent, he held development and services leadership positions with TenFold Corporation, an enterprise technology provider, and process engineering and design positions at Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Refining and Technology (now Valero). Todd earned his BS from the California Institute of Technology.
Executive Vice President, Sales and Solutions Management
Chris is responsible for aligning Advent’s innovations with client requirements to make sure we deliver best-in-class solutions. Before this position, he had global responsibility for strategy, product marketing, and sales of our alternative investment solutions, including Geneva® and Tamale RMS®. Chris joined Advent in 1997 and has held a variety of leadership roles in product marketing and sales, as well as being recognized as a top producing salesperson. In 2008, he led the establishment of Advent Asia, Ltd. Chris worked previously at Wells Fargo in Real Estate Capital Markets, at a small money management firm, and as an options trader at the Pacific Exchange. He earned his BA from UCLA and his MBA from New York University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Executive Vice President, Global Client Experience
Anthony is chartered with making sure our 4,500+ clients get the full value of their relationship with Advent through superior service and support. His teams are responsible for implementation, product adoption, training, support, ongoing account management, and renewal sales. He was previously in charge of strategy, product marketing, sales, services, and support of our solutions for the asset management industry. Joining Advent in 1993, Anthony has held a variety of positions including Senior Vice President of Services, Vice President of Client Sales, and Director of Product Marketing. He also held sales and services responsibilities in Advent’s European operations. Anthony holds a BS from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls.
Håkan leads Advent’s expansion across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where our presence is growing every year. His team is responsible for understanding the local requirements in every market and ensuring that our global solutions meet them. He joined Advent in 2003, bringing more than 20 years of experience in helping technology companies grow their business internationally, with leadership roles at IBM, i2 Technologies and IMI. Håkan has a BS and an MS from the Institute of Technology, Linköping.
Senior Vice President and General Manager, Black Diamond
Dave directs Advent’s strategy in the advisory market and heads our Black Diamond business unit. He came on board in 2011 when the company acquired Black Diamond Performance Reporting. Before the acquisition, he was Black Diamond’s Chief Solutions Officer. Prior to joining Black Diamond, Dave was Vice President at Schwab Advisor Services, the industry’s largest custodian for registered investment advisors, where he spent more than 12 years working with many of the industry’s largest and fastest-growing advisory firms. Dave has a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Doug is responsible for our internal IT and client hosted cloud infrastructure. He joined Advent in 2003 and, before assuming his current role, Doug led the product development teams responsible for our asset management and data services solutions. Before coming to Advent, Doug held a variety of product development leadership positions in collaboration technology and portfolio management. He has also had direct experience in the investment management industry. Doug has a BA from Juniata College and an MA from the University of Delaware.
